Best Investor Relations Award for 2009
|
In recognition of Mobinil's efforts and achievements in the field of investor
relations, Mobinil has been nominated and selected by the Global trade
matters-Egyptian exchange [GTM/EGX] Strategic Advisory Board as the winners of
the GTM/EGX 2009 Best Investor relations Award.
Mobinil VP Finance, Khalid Ellaicy received the award on behalf of the company
in the awards ceremony that took place on March 26, 2009 at the Four Seasons
Hotel, Nile Plaza. The awards ceremony and gala dinner showcased Mobinil’s
achievements and congratulated the company for this recognition of excellence.

Mobinil.com wins Best Website in Egypt |
Mobinil website was selected for two distinguished awards for: the Diamond
Award for the Best Website in Egypt and the Golden Award in the ICT [Software
and Telecommunication] category in the first Egypt Web Awards on March 2008.
A member of the prestigious Pan Arab Web Awards, the first Egypt Web Awards was
created to promote innovation, raise industry standards and recognize
excellence in web design and development. This recognition event aimed at
bringing together web design companies, freelancers and web owners in a
competition for the best website across 24 categories.

Mobinil celebrated a regional recognition award for excellence and leadership
in the field of ICT as Mobinil website was selected for the Golden Award in the
ICT category at the prestigious Pan Arab awards held in Dubai in April 2008.
For the fourth year, The Pan Arab Web Awards Committee presented the 2008 PAWA
Competition, created to promote innovation, raise industry standards and
recognize excellence in web design and development in a competition for the
best website in the Pan Arab Region.

Best Disclosure Award (Best Annual Report & Best Website) 2008
Mobinil was honored to receive the distinguished award for Best Disclosure 2008
(Best Annual Report & Best Website) presented by the Egyptian Institute of
Directors (EIOD).
Mobinil was ranked second place among all CASE-listed companies in Egypt in
this award, which celebrates best practice in corporate governance.
The Award Ceremony was held at the Four Seasons, Nile Plaza Hotel as part of
the annual Transparency & Disclosure Conference by EIOD on Monday June15, 2009.
Mobinil Chairman, Mr. Alex Shalaby received the award on behalf of Mobinil,
accompanied by a delegation from the Legal & Regulatory Affairs, Internal
Communication and the Corporate Art and Articulation teams.
The Best Disclosure Award acknowledges Mobinil for leading the way in
transparency and disclosure of information to all stakeholders, by following
best practices in corporate governance, quality of information, featured
results and operational highlights, management discussions and analyses,
indicators on prospects, and corporate responsibility.

OHSAS 18001: Occupational Health & Safety
|
Introduction On Monday the 27th of August, Mobinil was awarded the OHSAS
18001 certification. Mr. Eskander N Shalaby, in his capacity as the company
president and CEO received the certificate.
In recognition of how Mobinil cares about the safety and well being of all
employees, consultants or contractors, Mobinil was awarded the OHSAS 18001
certification on August 27, 200x; Mobinil president and CEO Mr. Alex Shalaby
received the certificate
Once again, Mobinil was one of the first telecom companies in the MENA region
to receive such a certification, proving its leadership when it comes to
health, safety and environment.
Mr. Shalaby commented that "Mobinil is always keen on protecting its staff by
providing a safe and healthy work environment that meets or exceeds local and
international standards. This is one of our core values and is clearly
expressed in our environment health and safety policy"
The OHSAS 18000 is an international occupational health & safety [OH&S]
management system that allows organizations to control related risks and
improve their overall performance. The OHSAS is becoming more and more
internationally recognized, similar to the ISO series.
Mobinil OH&S management system also had a framework to seamlessly integrate
with existing systems like the environmental management system [ISO 14000] and
the overall business plan.

Best Disclosure Award (Best Annual Report & Best Website) 2007 |
For the second consecutive year, Mobinil was honored to receive the
distinguished award for Best Disclosure 2007 (Best Annual Report & Best
Website) presented by the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIOD) in cooperation
with the Organization of Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD), the United
Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Center for
International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
Mobinil was honored to be ranked first place among all CASE-listed companies in
Egypt in this award, which celebrates best practice in corporate governance.
The second prize went to Lecico Egypt and the third for Orascom Telecom
Holding.
The Award Ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel as part of the annual
Transparency & Disclosure Conference by EIOD on Tuesday June 17, 2008. Mobinil
VP, Finance Khalid Ellaicy received the award on behalf of Mobinil, accompanied
by a delegation from the Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Department and the
Brand & Corporate Communication Department.
The Best Disclosure Award acknowledges Mobinil for leading the way in
transparency and disclosure of information to all stakeholders, by following
best practices in corporate governance, quality of information, featured
results and operational highlights, management discussions and analyses,
indicators on prospects, and corporate responsibility.
The judging panel featured a gathering of distinguished corporate leaders,
representatives from various regulatory bodies, entrepreneurs, senior
executives at the EIoD’s Annual Conference (Transparency & Disclosure) in 2008.
Set by international experts, the criteria of evaluation also covered annual
report quality, website interactivity, clarity of information and language, as
well as user-friendly navigation.

Environmental Excellence Award
|
|
Once again, Mobinil celebrated the fruits of a strong and sustainable Corporate
Social Responsibility program, as the company received the Euro-med Cities
Environmental Excellence Award.

|
|
Mobinil is the company of the year 2003 in Egypt, according to The Banker, a
Financial Times Business publication, a provider of global financial
intelligence since 1926.

ISO 14001: Environmental Management System
|
In September 2001 Mobinil received recognition for its long history of
environmental excellence and was officially awarded a new ISO 14001 certificate
by German Group TUV BAYERN for three new years.
Mobinil received the new certificate in a ceremony attended by Mobinil’s
President and CEO at the time; Osman Sultan, Mobinil’s key executives, TUV
BAYERN representatives and Dr. Nadia Makram Ebeid. The event was also attended
by members of the media.
About ISO 14001:
The ISO14001 is a worldwide recognized standard for the establishment of
Environmental Management System (EMS) in an organization. Obtaining the ISO
14001 certificate ensures that the organization is conforming to the
environmental Management System requirements and it is an official indicator
that the organization has taken the necessary measures to minimize pollution,
reduce waste and protect the environment for the sake of the employees, the
customers as well as the whole community.
The validity of the certificate is 3 years and is renewed annually for a
one-year period after passing the annual environmental surveillance audit. A
repeat audit is conducted every three years to renew the certificate for
another 3-year cycle.
